Academic Personnel Academic Personnel Services facilitates the recruitment, appointment, advancement, and retention of the most qualified and diverse faculty and academic appointees possible. APS provides leadership and oversight of academic policy and procedure, compensation and data initiatives, labor and employee relations and training & leadership development, all within the principles of shared governance and in a manner that supports the academic goals and objectives of the Administration and Academic Senate consistent with UCSD’s Principles of Community.
Administrative & Business Information ServicesADMINISTRATIVE & BUSINESS INFORMATION SERVICES - An enterprise and local information services that support the administrative and business function of UC San Diego. Supported functions include: finance, human resources, student administration, advancement, research administration, academic, capital and asset management, environment, health and safety, housing and dining, and auxiliary businesses.
Advancement ServicesADVANCEMENT SERVICES - The unit is responsible for management and processing of all incoming gifts made directly to UC San Diego and to the Foundation, including compliance with IRS and UC policy, gift recording, and donor receipting, as well was the accounting for incoming gifts to both the Foundation and the campus.
Building Maintenance & OperationsBuilding Maintenance & Operational Services - The Building Maintenance & Operations Division of Facilities Management provides services that maintain, repair and enhance campus buildings and facilities.
Business Intelligence & AnalyticsBusiness Intelligence & Analytics - Team enables reporting and analytics by curating data from multiple domains into a consolidated enterprise data warehouse. The BIA team trains analysts and report writers across campus to develop advanced analytics to support business operations and data-driven decision making.
Business Intelligence & Financial ReportingBUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & FINANCIAL REPORTING - provides a window into financial data by providing curated reports that help fiscal staff understand the financial information they are responsible for. This unit generates reporting and business intelligence solutions that provide maximum insight into your business operations.
Campus BookstoreCAMPUS BOOKSTORE - The UC San Diego Bookstore offers UC San Diego staff, faculty, and students a wide range of merchandise and discounted prices on many products.
Campus Budget OfficeCAMPUS BUDGET OFFICE - *The Campus Budget Office is different from the Undergraduate Colleges Business Office (UCBO)* The Campus Budget Office (CBO) helps manages the university's operating budget and process by which all funds are planned and core resources allocated. The UC San Diego Campus Budget Office supports the university through the innovative facilitation of financial resource management and relevant education, with a commitment to the highest standards of ethics. The department's core values are Accountability, Partnership, Credibility & Transparency.
Campus PlanningCAMPUS PLANNING - Campus Planning units include: Physical Planning, Community Planning, Space Planning and Management, Capital Planning and Environmental Planning. Mission: to prepare and advance campus land use plans so that the environmental quality, aesthetic value, and functional effectiveness of the university is safeguarded. Focus: land use planning, space usage and management, campus/community engagement, capital approval processes and environmental stewardship of campus lands.
Campus SustainabilityCAMPUS SUSTAINABILITY - RMP Sustainability coordinates various educational and outreach programs through the Sustainability Resource Center and project areas including Green Office Certification Program, Green Labs, Green Classroom, Green Residences, UC San Diego’s Earth Month celebration, Inter-Sustainability Council, Grow at UC San Diego, Advisory Committee on Sustainability, and Climate Action Planning, Sustainability Action Groups, and sustainability reporting.
Campus Utilities EnterpriseCAMPUS UTILITIES ENTERPRISE - The Utilities Enterprise operation is a self-supporting division within RMP serving the campus community, including two medical centers and other off-site locations with the safe, reliable, efficient, cost effective power, water, and all other utility services in the best, most optimal working and learning environment through well maintained infrastructure and uninterrupted utilities, with a focus on environmental stewardship and focus on sustainable building construction and operations, and carbon neutral practices.
CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT/DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT SERVICESCAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT/DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES - CPM is charged with delivery of the UC San Diego Capital Program. CPM is in responsible control of project management, budget and schedule, permitting and inspection services. CPM supports the entirety of the Capital Improvement Program @ UC San Diego by ensuring cost containment, communication, and customer services throughout the course of design and construction. 
Commute SolutionsCOMMUTE SOLUTIONS - Commute Solutions, a division of Transportation Services, is responsible for alternative transportation commute options for faculty, staff and students. It provides services that include carpool/vanpool support, transit passes, bicycle/micromobility programs, pedestrian programs, and traffic calming.
COSTING POLICY & ANALYSISCOSTING POLICY & ANALYSIS - promotes costing policies, strategies, and budgeting or accounting practices that will improve campus cost reimbursement, result in campus cost savings, and avoid cost disallowances, particularly in relation to sponsored activities and externally financed capital projects. This unit also monitors cost issues relating to campus recharge activities; develops and negotiates facilities and administrative (F&A) cost rates
Custodial ServicesCUSTODIAL SERVICES - The Custodial Services division of Facilities Management provides cleaning and specialty maintenance services to the campus.
Dining ServicesDINING SERVICES - HDH Dining Services’ operations are open to all students, faculty, staff and the public.
EARLY CARE & EDUCATION (ECE)EARLY CARE & EDUCATION (ECE) - ECE is accredited with the National Association for Young Children and provides high quality care and learning experiences for young children aged 3 months to Kindergarten.
Emergency Operations Center (EOC)EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER (EOC) - The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) develops and initiates operational strategies for managing the COVID-19 pandemic on campus. The EOC acts as a fusion center by analyzing information and providing guidance to students, staff, and faculty. The EOC is involved in compliance management, risk mitigation, and the development of protective actions such as moving more than 2,000 students to isolation and quarantine housing and procuring vital personal protective equipment.
Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S)ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY (EH&S) - EH&S supports UC San Diego's students, researchers, patients and staff by managing risk and providing safety-related services.
Financial Operations: Accounts ReceivableFINANCIAL OPERATIONS: ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE - is responsible for expanding and supporting institutional billing efforts (does not apply to student/patient receivables), including collections and revenue recognition practices. It supports departments throughout the University in customer maintenance, billing, payment applications, collections, and training.
Financial Operations: Cash & Merchant ServicesFINANCIAL OPERATIONS: CASH & MERCHANT SERVICES - is responsible for campus cash management, including the administration and reconciliation of bank accounts, merchant services management, PCI compliance, and drawdown of federal funds.
Financial Operations: Equipment Asset ManagementFINANCIAL OPERATIONS: EQUIPMENT ASSET MANAGEMENT - Supports financial unit operations by maintaining the University’s government-approved property management system and providing innovative solutions for UC and federally-compliant control of inventorial property owned by and/or in the custody of UC. Performs central office functions pertaining to system design, integrations, internal/external audits and reporting obligations.
Financial Operations: PPM Strategic DesignFINANCIAL OPERATIONS: PPM STRATEGIC DESIGN - is responsible for the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) subledger portfolio in Oracle Financials Cloud, including general project administration, troubleshooting, and optimization - enhancement request requirements/signoff, future state strategic design, testing, and reporting.

Health Sciences Sponsored Projects Pre-Award Office (HS-SPPO)Health Sciences Sponsored Projects Pre-Award Office (HS-SPPO) - Responsible for the review and submission of proposals for NIH/AHRQ Grants, Sub-Award Grants, NIH Fellowships including award acceptations, and VA/VMRF Memorandums of Understanding for Health Sciences researchers.
Imprints - Campus Copier ServicesIMPRINTS - CAMPUS COPIER SERVICES - Imprints Campus Copier Services provides departments with Multi-Functional Devices (copy, print, scan, fax) on a contract basis, including all service, supplies and paper commensurate with the specific usage.
IMPRINTS PRINT & COPY CENTERSIMPRINTS PRINT & COPY CENTERS - Imprints Print & Copy Centers provides a full menu of print, copy, design, and other services for faculty, staff, students and guests from three campus locations.
Institutional Research The UC San Diego's Institutional Research office collects, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of data for the purposes of assessing institutional outcomes, measuring institutional performance against strategic planning goals, comparative analysis with peer institutions, and reporting to campus constituencies and external agencies.
Internal Controls & Accounting (Formerly General Accounting)INTERNAL CONTROLS & ACCOUNTING (Formerly General Accounting) - is responsible for planning required financial reporting, annual financial statement audits, and assisting finance offices across the University in responding to audits, and tracking the status of management actions on financial audit reports. This unit provides professional accounting services to accurately classify, summarize and report timely information on behalf of UC San Diego.
INTERNATIONAL FACULTY & SCHOLAR OFFICE (IFSO)INTERNATIONAL FACULTY & SCHOLAR OFFICE (IFSO) - The International Faculty & Scholars Office (IFSO) provides comprehensive immigration and cross-cultural adjustment advising services, programs, and informational resources that support close to 3000 international faculty and researchers in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals, as well as serving academic departments and research units in pursuit of their missions. IFSO works with departments, faculty, and researchers to ensure institutional compliance with all federal agency regulations (U.S. Depts. of Homeland Security, State, and Labor) surrounding hiring and inviting international faculty and researchers to campus.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS & PROGRAM OFFICE (ISPO)INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS & PROGRAM OFFICE (ISPO) - The International Students & Programs Office (ISPO) is committed to the success of international undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree students at UC San Diego by enhancing their academic and intercultural experiences, providing the highest levels of knowledge and expertise in advising and immigration services, and facilitating global education through programs and services to the campus community.
IPPS Accounts Payable & Payment ServicesIPPS ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & PAYMENT SERVICES - Accounts Payable reviews and processes supplier invoices associated with purchase orders. They also serve as a liaison between campus departments and suppliers to assist with and resolve payment issues and information requests. Payment Services manages payment programs such as Procurement Card, Virtual Card and the Visa Gift Card program. They also manage payments to human subjects, direct deposit ACH, checks and wire transfer payments.
IPPS LOGISTICS (CAMPUS MAIL, MESSENGER, MAILING CENTER)IPPS LOGISTICS (CAMPUS MAIL, MESSENGER, MAILING CENTER) - Mail Services oversees intra-campus mail, desktop shipping, and pickup and delivery of official UC San Diego correspondences.
IPPS Logistics (Moving Services & Surplus Sales)IPPS LOGISTICS (MOVING & SURPLUS SALES) - IPPS Logistics coordinates and performs campus relocations and serves as an outlet for recycling, repurposing, and disposing of excess UC San Diego property.
IPPS Logistics (Receiving, Distribution, Outbound Shipping)IPPS LOGISTICS (Receiving, Distribution, Outbound Shipping) - IPPS Logistics processes and delivers incoming packages and freight to UC San Diego. They also process outbound packages including hazardous material, international packages, and large freight.
IPPS Payment RequestIPPS PAYMENT REQUEST - Payment Requests audits and processes specific non-purchase order transactions such as awards, memberships, honoraria, fellowships, and scholarships through Services & Support.
IPPS Strategic ProcurementIPPS STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT - Procurement and Business Contracts processes high dollar and high risk requisitions, negotiates complex agreements, manages Oracle Procurement content, and solicits competitive bids.
IPPS Travel & EntertainmentIPPS TRAVEL & ENTERTAINMENT - Manages payments and reimbursements for travel, meetings, and expense. They manage the Concur travel program, the Travel Card programs, and the Concur application.
ITS Enterprise Service DeskITS Enterprise Service Desk - Provides tier 1 and 2 support for all department services. The Service Desk can be contacted through a central call center, the Services & Support web portal, as well as walk-up locations at Applied Physics & Mathematics and the Hive at Torrey Pines Center South.
ITS Field SupportITS FIELD SUPPORT - Provides direct support for end-user devices and peripherals, consultation regarding best practices, guidance for utilization of end-user tools, and general assistance to enable the supported customer base to access needed IT services.
Landscape ServicesLANDSCAPE SERVICES - The Landscape Services division of Facilities Management provides an aesthetically pleasing landscape conducive to learning and working.
LibraryLIBRARY - The Library provides UC San Diego with information resources and services tailored to meet campus needs. The Library provides access to more than 7 million scholarly and educational resources and provides services that enable faculty, students and staff to effectively discover, evaluate and use these and other materials. The Library manages the Geisel and WongAvery Library buildings in support of campus teaching, learning, and scholarship.
Messaging & Collaboration ServicesMESSAGING & COLLABORATION SERVICES - Messaging & Collaboration Services supports the campus email and messaging platforms, and provides outreach, training, and support for collaboration tools associated with these services.
Network & Voice ServicesNETWORK & VOICE SERVICES - Internet and campus connectivity (both wired and wireless), voice and voicemail. Network and Voice Services provides data, voice, and Wi-Fi services for the main campus, SIO, and some off-campus office locations. These services include voice connections, call center software, NGN billing, network architecture, and ensuring that there is adequate data bandwidth for research, instruction, and administrative needs.
Office of Contract & Grant Administration (OCGA)OFFICE OF CONTRACT & GRANT ADMINISTRATION (OCGA) - The Office of Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA) serves the UC San Diego faculty and research community by representing the University’s interests in the review, submittal, acceptance and negotiation of grants, contracts, and other research agreements from non-profit, industry and government sponsors. OCGA also provides Business Contracts services in support of outgoing subawards, service agreements, multi-campus awards, ADCS agreements and unfunded agreements.
Office of Innovation & Commercialization (OIC)Office of Innovation & Commercialization (OIC) - OIC promotes and facilitates the commercialization of UC San Diego innovations to promote social and economic opportunities to the public. The Office manages and commercializes UC San Diego's intellectual property and provides resources for promoting an entrepreneurial culture on campus.
Operational Strategic Initiatives (OSI)OPERATIONAL STRATEGIC INITIATIVES (OSI) - The Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives (OSI) serves as an agile, objective, and analytical team that partners with campus to accomplish both operational and financial goals that support the mission and vision of UC San Diego.
ParkingPARKING - Parking provides parking facilities and services for main campus, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Medical Center Hillcrest, Medical Center La Jolla. IMPORTANT NOTE: Regional Transportation projects, City street widening and on-campus construction projects have and will continue to affect traffic on and off the campus for the next 3 to 4 years. Both Parking and Shuttle Services will continually adjust to accommodate the needs of our riders as these impacts are known. Changes in schedules, and service will be announced as early as possible to address your needs.
Passport ServicesPASSPORT SERVICES - Provides passport acceptance, passport photo, and document photocopy services to UC San Diego students, staff, and faculty, as well as the entire San Diego community.
Police/Public SafetyPOLICE/PUBLIC SAFETY - The UC San Diego Police Department is a diverse organization dedicated to providing the highest quality police service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Policy & Records AdministrationPOLICY & RECORDS ADMINISTRATION - Policy & Records Administration (P&RA) provides management and advisory services to the campus for public access and privacy compliance and administrative services for records and information management. Responsibilities include California Public Records and Information Practices Act requests, Chancellor’s Correspondence Record, Campus Regents Coordination, Policy and Procedure Manual, Official Notices and Flyers, Notary Service, Official Campus Organization Charts and Records Management Program.
Project Management, Facilities ManagementPROJECT MANAGEMENT, FACILITIES MANAGEMENT - The Project Management Division of Facilities Management coordinates renovation or alteration projects by using an outside contractor and/or consultant.
REAL ESTATE (RE)REAL ESTATE (RE) - Real Estate provides comprehensive real estate services for the University campus and UCSD Health system’s multi-million dollar portfolio of owned and leased property, public/private partnerships, property acquisition and disposition, license agreements, retail leasing, and off-campus leasing. Real Estate’s objectives are to advance the University’s academic and research mission by completing real estate transactions on time, within budget, to the satisfaction of its clients, and as a fiduciary for The UC Regents.
Risk Management OfficeRISK MANAGEMENT OFFICE - Risk Management offers services that include General Liability and Workers’ compensation Programs. It also provides oversight for General Safety, Sanitation, Occupational Health & Hygiene, and Safety Training.
Shuttle ServicesSHUTTLE SERVICES - Providing intracampus and intercampus mobility (shuttles, on-demand, and cart services), including specialized services for individuals with limited mobility. SIO Office of Contract & Grant Administration (SIO-OCGA)SIO-OCGA is responsible for the review and submission of proposals and award negotiation/acceptance for all federal agencies and non-federal sponsors for SIO researchers. In addition, SIO-OCGA is responsible for Service Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, Unfunded Agreements, and Outgoing MCAs for SIO researchers
Special Events ParkingSPECIAL EVENTS PARKING - Provides parking arrangements, staffing, signage, and transportation coordination for visitors and guests for special meetings or events.
Sponsored Projects Finance (Formerly OPAFS)Sponsored Projects Finance (Formerly OPAFS) - Oversees the financial management of UC San Diego's federal, state, and private contracts and grants. We advise on matters of financial compliance and proper cost accounting. Other functions include financial reporting, cash management, accounts receivable oversight, effort reporting, review and approval of expense transfers, and cost share monitoring and reporting.
Student Financial Solutions: Campus Card OfficeSTUDENT FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS: CAMPUS CARD OFFICE - offers a one-card solution and issues campus identification cards to students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. The card is used for official campus identification, building access, meal plan access, vending machines, and access to other services and amenities across campus.
Student Financial Solutions: Central CashierSTUDENT FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS: CENTRAL CASHIER - Serves as the official, central depository for the collecting, receipting, and processing of funds for the University. The office ensures that all payments and deposits are safeguarded and accurately applied to each student and/or departmental account in a timely manner.
Student Financial Solutions: Student Billing & Account ServicesSTUDENT FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS: STUDENT BILLING & ACCOUNT SERVICES - Includes student account management, student accounts receivables, and campus based loan administration. Provides centralized student billing, payment application assistance, student detail code accounting and reconciliation of Oracle GL/PPM variances associated with ISIS AR.
